We are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of abused, abandoned, and homeless cats, dogs, puppies and kittens.Established in 2008, A New Beginning Animal Rescue (ANBAR) is a volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) non-profit Utah-based organization serving Weber and Davis Counties in Utah. A New Beginning Animal Rescue (ANBAR) is a volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) non-profit Utah-based organization. Our goal is to thoughtfully reduce unnecessary euthanasia rates; improve Weber and Davis Counties’ animal welfare with compassion and respect through community building and public education on the mutual benefits of responsible pet parenting; and enhance the quality of life of companion animals in need of a new beginning and a forever home. We strive to ensure that each and every animal rescued by ANBAR is cared for; treated with compassion, respect, and dignity. While we are located in the Roy-Layton-Ogden, UT area, we also partner with local and regional groups and accept transfer rescues from throughout northern Utah and the surrounding states. ANBAR does not turn away any companion animal but welcomes them regardless of their condition and do not place a time limit on their stay with us.
We believe that euthanasia should be used only as a humane last resort, to prevent further animal suffering – such as when an animal is terminally ill, critically injured, or dying.ANBAR embraces a multi-prong strategic service approach to contribute to reach our goal of reducing the number of adoptable animals euthanized each year. Kitten-Season is almost here!!!We posted before that we need committed surrogate-moms for our little orphaned kittens we are going to get soon.If you can't do that but still want to help, we need the following items for them.- Nursing bottles AG- Foster Care Milkreplacer (please ONLY Foster Care Brand)- Miracle Nipples- Snuggle Mommy (with heartbeat to comfort little ones)All these items can be purchased by going to smile.amazon.com, the address for delivery would be 4712 S. 2675 W., Roy, Utah 84067 or you can donate towards these items right here.
Kitten-Season is almost here and we are looking for some dedicated SURROGATE MOTHERS for little orphaned kittens we will be getting. Every year, we raise around 100 little orphans and we need your help.If you have bottle-fed kittens before and you are interested to do it again, please contact us here.
We will provide all the bottles and formula needed. If you have never done it before, we would be able to train you. Please know that kittens - depending on their age - have to be fed EVERY 2 - 4 hours, day and night. This is not an easy task but it is VERY rewarding knowing you are giving these precious little angels a chance to live and experience the love of a mother.Kittens have to be bottle-fed until they are approximately 5 weeks of age when they start being able to eat 'kitty-soup' (canned food mixed with formula) and then slowly start eating canned and dry food. Please contact us if you think you can do that and you can commit to taking care of them until they are off the bottles. You can send us a message here or call Debbie at 801-671-3778 to sign up. What an AMAZING adoption weekend we had!!!!Not only did several of our animals find their forever homes but we also got a large monetary donation from Jefferson Academy Charter School in Kaysville. The kids did the coolest fundraiser called 'Penny-Wars' for us. The way it worked is every classroom had a large money jug where they collected pennies that the kids had acquired from family, friends and neighbors. For every penny they would get one point. However, if they got nickels, dimes, quarters or even bills, they could put that into the money jug of a different classroom, giving that classroom 2 negative points equaling the amount deposited and by doing so, sabotaging other classrooms. They kids were also encouraged to dress up in disguise when depositing money in other classrooms (sabotaging them) and a rule was that they were not allowed to stop anyone from doing so.
The kids had a total blast doing so and they raised over $1300.00 for our rescue!!!!!Last Saturday, students and representatives of Jefferson Academy PTO came to our adoption event where we could show and explain first hand what we are doing. We even had Pikachu there, a puppy who just had had major surgery and is still recovering from it. They could see his surgery scar and we explained that the money they had raised, helps animals just like Pikachu, often saving their lives. We also would like to express our appreciation to the school for selecting our rescue for this fundraiser. Doing a fundraiser for a smaller and local charity makes a HUGE IMPACT compared to giving to a large or national organization, where you really don't know what your donation is going to do.THANK YOU all students, teachers and staff at Jefferson Academy Charter School, family members, friends and neighbors of the students who helped with this fundraiser!!! ???This little guy is Pikachu, he was a owner surrender from a just a few weeks ago. He went into a foster home and has been doing well though he’s been scared and adjusting to his new life.
This weekend his foster let us know that he was vomiting and holding no food or water down. Our normal vet was completely booked so we had to do a ER Vet, after Xrays showed that he had ingested a small object and it was lodged in his intestines, they tried fluids for 24hours to have it dislodge but unfortunately it wouldn’t budge. They went in for surgery to have it removed. All of this have cost us a bill of around $4,000 due to emergency weekend surgery and etc.We are in dire, dire need of monetary funds!! This sweet boy is going to have some recovery ahead of him.
If you can please donate towards his vet bill, we will be extremely grateful. Thank you to all of our amazing followers, we will update Pikachu’s story soon ?. ⭐️ Update on DaVinci!! ⭐️DaVinci is healing up pretty well, swelling around his neck/cheek area has gone down a lot! He is quite the love bug and is all about the attention and snuggles.
He is pretty calm unless it’s breakfast or dinner, by then he is meowing and ready for some food!!His next appointment will be February for his neuter and dental! After he is all healed and cleared by the vet he will be ready for his forever home!!THANK YOU ? to everyone who has donated so far!! We are so thankful for all the likes, comments, and page shares. They truly make a difference!
We will update this sweet guys story again soon ??. ??Good morning ANBAR followers!
??Meet Chubbles, we just took this little girl in with a crush-injury to her lungs (pulmonary contusion). She is 6 weeks old and at Mountain West Emergency Vet right now. Her previous owner could not afford the medical care needed for this poor girl, we received a call and made the decision to take her in!
How could we not! We here at ANBAR are known to take on many medical cases and do our best to give all our animals the care they needWe are hoping to raise some funds for her care as the bill will be about $1,300!Chubbles will be available for adoption as soon as she is healed up, spayed, microchipped, and UTD on all vaccinations. Please share her story! Thank you all! This weekend we rescued this poor sweet old man. He was a stray cat on Hill AFB, many residents and families on the base had seen him for months, maybe years.
After a post was made showing his unjuries, us here at ANBAR knew we had to get this poor guy some IMMEDIATE help. With the help of some kind ladies, and our fellow ANBAR lady they caught him! He was checked out at a vet nearby and was sedated to get a good look at him, he had a severely large abscess on his neck from a dog bite they are thinking. He has been through A LOT his whole body shows all his battle wounds. The vet decided to shave him whole and he was very dirty and matted. He was tested for FIV and came up negative!! They drained the abscess and cleaned it out, it’s quite large and very swollen but with antibiotics and some pain meds he was on a great way to recovery!
We estimate him to be 10 years old. He has lost some teeth and his top two canines are broken, so we have scheduled his neuter and dental for the first week of February!!We have named this sweet boy DaVinci, his foster says he was such a lover and truly is feeling grateful to have a warm safe place to stay now.We would love to have donations for his recent bill at the ER and his upcoming dental and neuter. If you can donate share this sweet boy’s story! We will update his story soon ❤️❤️!! These two lovely cats will be up for adoption this Saturday at Petco in Layton! The event is from 1pm-6pm.Charlie is a 6 month old female.
She has the cutest little mustache! Charlie is shy at first but super sweet. Loves playing and napping by the window. Great with other cats and dogs.Trouble is a 2.5 year old male.
He doesn't live up to his name. He is very affectionate and loves attention. He is good with other cats and dogs. Both are spayed/neutered and UTD on all shots. They have been microchipped as well!
Update on Blue! ???If you remember this sweet girl, she is still with us waiting for her new home! She has been to two adoption events and does great and is so adorably cute!We currently have her in the cat cubbies at Petco in Layton! If she catches your eye you can go take a look at her ? during their open hours!?? Meet Blue ????Hello, I’m Blue!Close to a year ago I was pulled from a shelter and taken into the rescue.During this scary, unsure time I didn't understand what was happening. I was confused, and upset. Due to my outbursts and still being unsure of my surroundings, I was unable to attend adoption events.
As I was too scared and overwhelmed. It was decided I would go to the rescues 'Kitty center' where I was given my own room and a few weeks to 'chill out'.After I calmed down (I admit it took awhile) they let me into the main room with some other cats and my personality quickly returned to the way I use to be. Fun, playful, and affectionate ??!!I love greeting anyone who enters the kitty center and begging for attention before hiding under the blankets as they replace them. I am very silly and enjoy playing with toys (and blankets) and after playing for a while I like to sit on people's laps for some petting. I am about four years old and act like a kitten. I get along with most other cats and could get use to a respectful dog. I have all my shots, a microchip, and spayed!Despite being so adoptable the rescue feels adoption events will be too overwhelming for me.
So here we are showing my sweet face in hopes one of you will give me a furever home!! I will probably need a few weeks in my new home before my true personality shines, but I am worth the wait!?? Please contact us if you would love to give this sweet girl Blue a loving home!! ⚠️⚠️ U R G E N T CAT FOSTERS NEEDED ⚠️⚠️We have a very unfortunate situation, a supporter of ours family member has passed and all of her cats are in need of foster homes ?? the family decided to release the cats into the streets to avoid having to care for them!! The poor cats were cold and lost but thankfully one of our fosters/volunteers went to the area and captured the cats.We have 7 adult cats and 4 kittens that are in need of a foster home ASAP!! Please message us if you can help. Even if it’s temporarily, we really need the help!! If you can help you could also call Debbie at (801) 671-3778Share this post with anyone you think could help!

Please contact us if you would love to give this sweet girl Blue a loving home!! Update on ADALENE:Update on ADALENE:Adalene had her second surgery and is back home for recovery.
She is having a bit of a hard time and needs to learn how to walk again. Right now we are actually only working on standing on both legs which is still quite challenging for her, so a long road still ahead of her. Please, if you can help us with her medical bills, we would GREATLY appreciate it.
We spent over $7,000 this June alone on medical bills, so many little ones needing our help and we need yours!Thank you!!! Update on ADALENEAdalene has recovered enough from her first leg surgery and is going to have surgery on her other leg tomorrow. As you can see, she has been successfully 'de-feralized' and is now as sweet as can be.We were not able to raise all the funds we needed for her first surgery and don't have any funds left for her second surgery. We have had so many medical rescues that we couldn't keep up with the posting. Our medical bills in June have exceeded $6500 this month!!! If you can help ADALENE or any of our other medical cases, we would very much appreciate it!Please do so by using the donation button on the very top right of our page (for some reason, it will now not allow to add the donation button to this specific post).Your donations make the rescue and recovery of these precious little souls possible.THANK YOU! OLIVERYou want to talk about Resilience?
Look at OLIVER, 6 hours after his surgery!!!! He is an absolutely AMAZING cat!First of all, after being out there for 1 1/2 years in a feral colony, knowing to cry for help when someone was there, then being so willing to accept our help to this recovery!!!And if you are wondering, YES, he already has a home with the volunteer who found and cared for him and the other ferals. He will now be pampered and lovingly cared for in a home for the rest of his life!We are only half way towards the total costs of his surgery, so PLEASE, keep on sharing and donating! We offered the vet some unruly teenagers for payment, but they wouldn't go for it.
CLOSE-OUT FUNDRAISER for 2018:We would like to thank all you wonderful people who supported our rescue throughout this year. Your generosity has made possible that so many wonderful animals were able to be saved, made whole again and find them forever homes! Please continue to support us also in the new year, unfortunately, there is no shortage on animals who need our and your help.' A New Beginning Animal Rescue' is a 501c3 charitable organization, so all your donations are tax deductible! Our non-profit Tax-ID # is.Thank you again for all you have made possible in 2018!!! DAPHNE & DELILAHThese two sweeties are DAPHNE & DELILAH they are 10 week old sisters.
The mom was a German Shepherd, the daddy must have been a Black Labrador. They are more like twins than siblings and are ALWAYS together. When they can't see each other they start to cry. It would be so wonderful if they could find a home together, but we know that is a BIG commitment. Please note, even though it is right before Christmas, puppies are NOT a great Christmas gift but a promise to the puppy that it will be a member of a loving family for the next 15 years or longer! Having a Baby or moving should NEVER be a reason to abandon that promise. If you are interested in adopting any of our puppies, please be aware that we will require the purchase of a puppy training class to assure raising this puppy into a well behaved loving dog. So this is what happened last night:Around 11:00 PM, the doorbell of a friend of one of our wonderful volunteers rang and when they opened to see who it was, the person was gone, HOWEVER, there was a box at the front porch that was taped shut and on it, it said ' DAY 1 Merry Christmas'.They took the box inside and when they opened it, there was a cat inside, freezing cold, severely dehydrated and starved near death! Her starvation didn't happen over night, someone had done that to her!!!!Who would do a thing like that, and what does it mean 'Day 1', what are they going to do on Day 2?Because of the condition that the cat was in and the strange message, Police was called and they are now investigating. We were able to stabilize NOEL (That's what we are going to call her) but because we aren't sure whether she is in pain or just extremely traumatized, we need to get her to the vet ASAP.This sweet girl has been through so much, we need to help her and make sure, nothing like that ever happens again! If you can identify the box or know anything about this, please contact us or the Morgan County Police Department. Please help us to give NOEL the Christmas she deserves by getting her healthy and proof to her, that there are good people in this world! She is crying a lot ant the picture shows how the spine is sticking out.PLEASE DONATE TO HER CARE!!!
WE WANT TO GIVE HER EVERYTHING SHE DESERVES!!! GoombaGoomba is a sweet little guy almost 1 year old. He is affectionate, smart and loves to play. His favorite thing is to play with a squeaker toy or play with an other dog and run around in the backyard. He loves to eat carrots, loves to cuddle or just lay next to someone. He is a really good dog for someone who is experienced with dogs and understands that he has a history where it takes him a little while to learn how to trust and adjust but once he trusts, he is loyal and sweet and listens well.He needs an owner who is experienced with dogs, who is patient and calm.
He has a history of abuse and therefore it takes him a while to trust someone and to be comfortable but once he is, he is a very great dog that anyone would be lucky to have. We have so many good news this morning!!!1. MAGGIE is home and safe!
We have been putting out food and water for her these 3 weeks in the field we last saw her and it was eaten every day buy we weren't sure who ate it until 2 days ago when we actually saw her. She didn't let us get close buy we knew that it was her. A kennel with food and her sister's blanket didn't work, so last night we got a coyote trap and put cheese burgers and tuna in it.
At midnight she still wasn't in, but this morning she was!! She is now reunited with her sister and the sister's babies.
She is still scared and skinny but we got her and now can help her recover from her trauma! We are just so incredibly happy! A big shout-out to LeAnn Noffsinger who never gave up!! BABIES, BABIES AND MORE BABIES!!!We are in urgent need of some more good people who are willing to take on the mother-role for a little while for all these babies. We have many kitten babies who need mommies but we are also looking for fosters for 6 little puppies. We are in urgent need of some more good people who are willing to take on the mother-role for a little while for all these babies.
We have many kitten babies who need mommies but we are also in desperate need for fosters for 6 little puppies, we have a foster for only 2 of them, we need two more fosters who can 2 each. Please call us at 801-671-3778 if you can help these sweet little angels! This morning I had a quite upsetting conversation with a lady about our rescue. Sweet baby-kittensHere is a video of 11 of the 17 babies that I am currently raising. These 11 are eating on their own, then there are 6 more bottle-feeders.We currently are raising about 35 little orphans with our wonderful volunteers taking over mommy duties. In one year we raise between 75 and 85 little orphans and then adopt them out into loving homes.WOULD YOU LIKE TO BECOME A SPONSOR OF ONE (OR TWO) OF THEM?It costs around $25.00 on formula to raise one kitten for the first 5 weeks before they start eating on their own.If you can, please be a hero and sponsor one or two of them!
It really would help us out a lot!!!THANK YOU! Please someone help. We are passing thru Layton Utah and ate at the Denny’s there and right outside there was a brown and white pit bull mix dog. We would have taken the poor creature somewhere if it hadn’t clashed with our terrier.
It’s so cold outside, this is heartbreaking, I don’t know who to call or really what’s available after 10pm. We’re unfamiliar with this place. We just are by Layton Utah—at a Denny’s.
We told the people inside (barely anyone there), and they seemed unconcerned. I hated leaving the poor dog, but was resolved to reach out any way I could. Can anyone help this doggo out? More good news:All our little patients at Millcreek Animal Hospital - Dr. Ellis are doing wellAutumn, Cider and Nugget. We also had to hospitalize some of our little ones because of an outbreak of kitty parvo in one of our foster homes. We unfortunately did loose one of these precious babies, but the rest are doing much better and are eating on their own now.
As a precaution, we also sent Lit'l Pirate there because he was in the same foster home. He is now also being fostered by our wonderful vet Dr. Kristie Ellis ?. To BE KILLED 6/25/18 IN NYC.
